SHELBY DOWNING Singer – Songwriter Shelby Downing is Texas to the bone with a rock and roll edge that lets you know, this girl is for Real. Real Passion: Real Attitude: And a Real Big Voice! She knows how to take a stage and make it her own. Watching one of her shows, you get the feeling Shelby wasn’t kidding when she wrote the song “Rebel Child.” Shelby sings and performs like nobody’s watching. Pouring out her heart and soul every minute she’s on the stage. Shelby has been singing as long as she can remember and started voice lessons at 9 with Bart Barton in Dallas. But that wasn’t enough for this girl. She decided to teach herself the guitar and has been playing and accompanying herself at shows ever since. Always striving to be the best at what ever she is doing,Shelby travels to Nashville regularly and has studied with Rene Grant Williams and Jilla Web.

She is working hard on her craft so when she hits the stage, her show is polished, powerful and entertaining. Shelby has always wanted to help others. She works with mentally challenged children and performs regularly for our troops. She is an Awarded member of The Patriot Coins, The Patriot Guard Riders, The Welcome Home Soldiers and recently sang at the Memorial for MIA Veterans. This spring Shelby traveled to Nashville to finish recording her second CD. She has been writing since she was a little girl and has recently teamed up with some of Nashville’s premier songwriters. Her CD “Rebel Child” is a collection of songs she either wrote or co-wrote that tell stories about life and some of the people she has met.
